2008 Torch Awards…
Advancing Marketplace Trust Award 2008 recipient
(small-medium business category)
… and the winner is: Bella Candela
This year’s recipient of the Advancing Marketplace Trust
Award for the small-medium business category is a North
Vancouver Italian South American fusion restaurant whose
business has committed itself to its community and to social
change. Bella Candela has donated space in the restaurant
for the operation of an art gallery featuring local artists, La
Galeria Candela. It also hosts several events which include the
Climate Change Café, an event which promotes a Carbon Free Diet
and the Harvest Project, an open house about Education about
Homelessness Action Week. This small business has taken up the
challenge to encourage debate among businesses and citizens to
think about social and environmental issues. |
